Winthrop Rockefeller operated Winrock Farms on the grounds that today house the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute, he was known to be friendly with all of his staff, from the highest-ranking ranch managers to the people who cleaned out the stables. Front Desk Manager

Department: Guest Services/Operations

Status: Full-time, benefited

Hours per week: 40

Duties: Responsible for oversight of front desk procedures, staff, etc. Duties will include, but not be limited to, planning weekly staff schedules, approving leave requests, approving payroll, working with other departments to ensure professional, knowledgeable service for all Institute visitors including those checking in and out and/or needing assistance during their stay.

Minimum Requirements: High school diploma/GED; demonstrate recent (last 2 years) management/leadership work experience; demonstrate knowledge of hospitality industry; applicants must be able to work days, evenings, weekends, and night audit shifts as needed; must possess a positive, team-minded attitude and uphold a high standard of quality; must be able to stand/sit for long periods of time, and lift approximately 20 lbs.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 1-2 years front desk management in hospitality setting
  • Associate’s degree in hospitality management or proven related (hospitality) experience

Conference Set-up Representative

Department: Conference Services

Status: Full-time, benefited

Hours per week: 40, overtime as needed

Duties: Responsible for assisting with meeting room set-up for conference guests, clean up and break-down of meeting rooms after conferences end, assist with facility cleaning (mirrors and floors), assist other conference and food service personnel with event set-up and clean-up, interact with guests in a professional manner, assist with minor guest requests (door locks, TV’s, etc.), move and arrange furniture

Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or GED.

Must be able to/have:

  • Work days, evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Possess a positive, team-minded attitude and uphold a high standard of quality
  • Follow written instructions
  • Have basic knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Work alone with minimal supervision and take direction from various conference planners

Housekeeper

Department: Conference Services

Status: Partially benefited

Hours per week: 20-25 on average, more or less as needed

Duties: Our part-time housekeepers are responsible for assisting with room strip outs and overall facility cleanliness. Expectations include but are not limited to, stripping/making beds, cleaning restrooms, vacuuming and dusting.

Minimum Requirements: 1-2 years related work experience, high school diploma or GED, availability to work days and weekends. Other requirements include a positive attitude, ability to take direction and work well with others, reliable transportation, standing/walking for long periods of time, lifting up to 50 lbs, bending stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling.

Groundskeeper / Maintenance Technician

Department: Maintenance

Status: Full-time, benefited

Hours per week: 40, overtime as needed

Duties: Responsible for maintaining all Institute grounds. Duties will include, but not be limited to, maintenance of campus flower beds, trees, landscaped areas, lawn care (including planting, pruning, mowing, weed eating, limb pick-up/disposal). Also responsible for campus recycling by collecting items from various recycling locations and disposing in recycling bins.

Minimum Requirements: 1-2 years of previous, related work experience is required. Applicants must be able to work days and evenings and weekends, as needed. Must possess a positive, team-minded attitude and uphold a high standard of quality. Must be able to work well with co-workers and Maintenance Manager, work in extreme temperatures, stand or kneel for long periods of time, lift approximately 50-80 lbs, and properly and safely handle tools of the trade (gardening and landscaping equipment and tools).

Graphic Designer

Graphic Designer

Department: Marketing/Communications

Status: Part-time, partially benefitted

Hours per week: 24, more as needed

Duties: Assist Creative Director with conceptualization and production of printed materials and web-based projects for a wide range of audiences; organization of images and design files; ensure proper inventory of printing materials (papers, toner, card stock, etc.); assist with completion of printed projects (stuffing envelopes, folding, copying, etc.); attend meetings for Creative Director as needed; assist with research of project specific graphic design tools (photos, fonts, layouts, etc.); assist with still-photo assignments; assist with updates to website and social media

Minimum Requirements: Completion of Graphic Design or related college coursework; 1-2 years of previous graphic design experience; proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, MailChimp, etc.; proficient knowledge of various printing tools and equipment; excellent team-minded attitude; excellent organization skills; professional verbal and written communication skills; reliable transportation to and from Petit Jean mountain; flexible work availability

 

Preferred Requirements: Minimum requirements, plus experience with multiple visual arts disciplines.

Server

Department: Food Services

Hours per week: 20-25, as needed

Duties: Our part-time servers are responsible for set-up of meals and snacks for conference and program groups. They serve and assist guests during plated and buffet meals and assistance with food service clean up and maintenance tasks on a regular basis.

Minimum Requirements: Availability to work days, evenings and weekends, excellent people skills, positive attitude, ability to take direction and work well with others, reliable transportation, standing for long periods of time, lifting and balancing.
